The purpose of the AIIA Domestic Capabilities Policy Advisory Network is to look at policies and initiatives aimed at building the domestic capability of Australia’s ICT sector. The projected intentions of the group are to:

  • Enhance the Australian ICT sector by increasing domestic competitiveness
  • Foster partnerships between local and global technology companies
  • Work with state and federal governments in developing domestic SME procurement policies, and
  • Promote and sustain an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Australia.

These intentions align strongly with Mia’s mission to help build the capabilities of local businesses to compete in the government ecosystem. As a company, we support global firms to build presence in our local market, recognising the skills, knowhow and investment they contribute to our local businesses. Additionally, we are endless campaigners to promote the critical role of diversity in building capacity and skills in the tech sector.

Finally, Deirdre is a passionate advocate for efficient and responsive government procurement policies and practices that enhance outcomes for both government and businesses. This has long been a key focus of Mia.

Deirdre is very pleased to be a part of the AIIA Domestic Capabilities Policy Advisory Network leadership team, and looks forward to making a contribution around this important objective.
