Here’s some exciting news… Mia founder and director, Deirdre Diamante, has been elected to Melbourne’s Manningham City Council in Tullamore Ward.
Deirdre made her oath on Tuesday 10 November, confirming her commitment to working for residents and businesses in the City of Manningham.
A resident of Manningham for 43 years, Deirdre is passionate about the area and its family-oriented values. As a small business owner, she campaigned on a platform that included strengthening local business support and local government procurement.
“These are areas that are close to my heart and I am so excited to now have the opportunity to discuss and progress them,” Deirdre said.
Deirdre’s and Mia’s business history with Manningham City Council also extends back some years. In 2013, Mia was named Small Business of the Year in the inaugural Manningham Business Excellence Awards. And since 2016, Deirdre has been a judge of the same awards. Mia also, on occasion, runs tendering workshops for Manningham businesses.
“It’s been a long four months of campaigning in difficult times, but I am so proud and thrilled to be successful in this election,” Deirdre said. “It’s been a dream of mine for some time. Thanks to all who have reached out, for your ideas and encouragement. I am looking forward to the next four years!”
Deirdre will, of course, continue as the fearless and dedicated leader of Mia.
